Family Pics Downtown Tulsa....

Well, we finally made an appointment with Ms. Mandi to get pics done. We met her downtown for an hour of photo shooting. It was a lot of fun. Everyone was in a good mood, Hudson was especially joyful :) We ended up with too many good ones to choose from! Yikes, which ones to print? I wish I could just print them all and make a shrine to our family, but that idea was vetoed :) Here are just a couple of my faves!

13 Years Later....

I'm not exactly sure how this all got started. My roommate from college, Renee, and I were talking about meeting up for Homecoming at JBU (our almamater). We graduated from there in 1997 and haven't seen some of those girls since graduation. Most of us have hooked up on facebook in the last several years (yeah for facebook). Well, we got to talkin' and it ended up with two three friends catching a flight, and three of us taking a drive to visit each other and reconnect (in person).

So, this weekend, we all met up. We had lots of fun talking about what's been going on since graduation, our favorite memories, checking out the new look on campus, buying JBU items (20% alumni discount), eating yummy food....and laughing!!! It's amazing to me how you can be apart for so long and shift right back into where we left off, with just a few extra wrinkles :)

It was so fun seeing everyone! Let's do it again soon!

The "boy" is 4...

Well, today (tomorrow, bc I'm writing this tonight) is my second child's (Hudson) 4th birthday. He came into the world at 10:48 pm on Friday, June 30th 2006. We were so very blessed to have a healthy baby boy, weighing 7'15" and measuring 20 3/4 inches long. Now he is 36 lbs. and measures 42 inches...wow, how time flies...here are a few pictures of the past four years with our little "butter head".

American Girl Store...

Well, we did it, we made the trip down to Dallas to visit the American Girl Store. Alee decided that what she wanted most for her 5th birthday was an American Girl of the year, Lanie :) So, everyone went in to get her the doll and we wanted to make a fun trip out of it!!! Kristy, Kayli, Alee and I drove down and made a day out of getting the doll. We shopped on the way down, spent some time at the store, got a few accessories at the store, ate dinner there, had fun dessert late, shopped more the next day, went to IKEA for the first time and drove home. It was super fun...thanks to Grandma Slayden who kept the boys and enjoyed some time with them while the girls went away (although, we've decided to take Grandma next time and leave the boys with Papa or the dads). Here is a cute picture of the girls with their dolls. Alee kept telling us that it was the best day she has ever had :) They had a really good time!

Time to EAT!!

Baby food! Yuck! My least favorite stage of baby...but it must be done, so we are starting today with rice cereal. It went about how I expected, he spit it out but didn't mind spoon after spoon of the bland stuff. Here's a cute picture of our first try this morning :)

5 Months!

Jack Jack, as we know him around here, has really begun to grow! He weighed in at over 15 lbs...he is trying to sit up each chance he gets, he is rolling from back to tummy from the left side, and cut his first two teeth...look close and you'll see them in his picture below! :)

WHAT was I thinking?

There was a miscommunication between the love of my life and myself this past week. Our Valentines date night, Friday, had to change because the love of my life decided to go to a golf expo instead. And, really, to his benefit, we kinda hadn't really settled on Friday (well I thought we had). Anyway, to sooth my disappointment, I invited all the marriage builder's moms and kids over to decorate cookies...REALLY? What was I thinking? Oh, I know, I was thinking that it would be a blast to have all the mommas over! :) We really enjoy getting together...and it being Valentines weekend and all...a good weekend to decorate valentine cookies and eat candy. So, here are the pics from the valentines party. The kids were great! They decorated, ate, played, and were fun to have around. I'm so glad so many were able to come out...we missed all of you who couldn't make it...we'll do it again real soon (next time you're out of town ha ha! just kidding!).

Sweet treat cups!!

My mom and sister sell Stampin' Up! and I kept hearing about these sweet treat cup cards...I decided to check them out on utube and see what all the talk was about. I used to do this crafting thing and thought I could make some cute little cards with Kayli for Valentine's Day. Well, I watched several videos on how to make different cards...and they were super, super cute. Just the perfect thing for Kayli and I to do together. Well, the supplies came in the mail yesterday and Kayli wanted to make them right away! I tried to tell her that she still had 14 days till Valentine's day, but she wanted to get them started...so, we made 18 little treat cups last night and they are simple but they are super cute!!

The fancy paper we used for the girl's cards was too fancy for the boys so I came up with a different design for the boys. We used old spiderman Valentines from last year, paired them with dark blue paper and had something for the boys that didn't look so girly....
