Nothin' Like the Love of a Mother...

My mommy came Friday to be with me. We had a GREAT time. It wasn't about going a bunch of places or doing a bunch of things...it was about just being together and that is what we did. I really am thankful that she was able to come just be here. The kids enjoyed having her here and not just because they got new toys!! Ha! Grandmas just cannot help themselves, can they? Here are some pictures of my mom and the kids!!

A New Day...

Well, the day came and she had to leave. Renee came, as you know, to be with me this week and to help yesterday with the kids. Yesterday was a good day only because I had G and Renee here to help and keep me company. But this morning was rough, one day later and mommy had to be mommy for a few hours and it was hard. It sure does make it hard being so far away from those of you who would come sit with me if you could. Somehow, just knowing you exist makes it a little easier...

I have appreciated all the calls, emails, and prayers from friends and family. Please continue to pray for us as we have good and bad days ahead.

Renee, thank you so much for driving 5 hours to come be with me and sit with me and help out. The minute you left, I missed you. You are amazing and I cannot express how much your dropping everything and driving up here has meant to me.

By the way, don't hate us because we are soooooooooooooooooo beautiful in this photo!

OH THE MADNESS...

The day has gone very smoothly around here. Nee watched the kids this morning while G and I went to the hospital. They even slept in for her till 8!! How nice for her. So, we've been laying around here, trying to relax. I've actually had some good girl gab time with Nee (my roommate from college came up to help) while Kayli went to school and Hudson was sleeping, very nice. But here are a few pictures of the madness that has progressed as my kids have gotten stir crazy...and, yes, I sat and watched...and yes, we are down one full tissue box...and yes, I did nothing, because I just didn't care!

How to say it...

we found out today that this third little blessing just isn't to be this time. I went in to the ob this morning and had a normal appointment. Everything seemed fine and I was excited to finally (at 10 weeks) to have that first exam appointment out of the way. But, something wasn't right when they checked for the baby's heartbeat with the doppler. They didn't find one. So, they sent me over to have a sonogram done...as soon as she turned it on, I knew in my heart...he was gone. Although we are crushed, we serve a sovereign God who was not surprised and knows all things and only wants what is best for us. He promises us in His word to be with us...He is as close to us as our own shadow. That doesn't mean we don't hurt and that we don't grieve...all that is normal. That is where we are now. We are grieving and trying to process the "why" questions that roll through our minds. Tomorrow morning we are scheduled to be at the hospital...please pray for all of us as this is not just affecting the mommy but also the daddy and excited little sister...along with all family on both sides.

Thank you for all your prayers, we covet them. Thank you to those of you who have called and cried and prayed with me...I love you more than you know.

Bath time

From this picture you would never have known that bath time was a battle....they both were in the bath last night at the same time. All you could hear were battle cries!! But, then they got out of the bath and Hudson climbed up behind his sister to snuggle...this was not staged! How sweet!!

Helping Already!!!

Well, we got home reallllllllllllllllllllly late last night (not as late as the Ohio Slaydens...hope you guys are able to function today) and I am in a fog. I did have one cup of coffee to get things going this morning. Well, Hudson has discovered a new book this morning...not new to us...it's Brown Bear Brown Bear. He loves it and The Very Busy Spider (if you do the animal noises)...which we've read over and over already this morning. So, here is Kayli taking over for me (without me asking!) Too cute!

Mommies to Be...

We went to Owasso this weekend for Friend Day!!! It was lots of fun!! The Ohio Slaydens drove down and the kids got to play together again. We are enjoying their relocation! So, I got to see my girlfriends again, yippy! I am so glad that they are always there waiting for me to visit...and that none of them have had to move, like we thought!! Yeah, Sandy!! I was reminded of that again last night when I was talking with you. Anyway, this doesn't seem fair but here are two pictures of the five of us expecting from the marriage builder's Sunday school class. Some showing off their bellies more than others (KATIE!!! time to grow!). I am sad that I am going to miss the birth of the first two...I promise to come visit your new babies as soon as I can!

In order from due first to last...due in mid. October Kina & Dannielle, Due January Annie, Due February Katie, and me (yep!) due April!!! The Bible does say to go forth and multiply...ha! What's even more funny is that four of us are having our thirds!! So much fun!

Sisterhood!

While I have a wonderful sister, Shauna, and three super special sister-in-laws, Rebecca, Lori, and Kristy, this post is dedicated to my sistas!

This past weekend the kids and I drove to Owasso....yippy!!! You know, it just feels like home there. This weekend was the Ladies Weekend conference at Friendship. Friday evening we had dinner and lots of laughs and Saturday we had four awesome speakers. I really enjoyed all that Carla planned for the weekend and what the speakers had to say. One thing that I really enjoyed was Kina's session. She reminded us how to be good friends and how to be secure in our friendships. She did a wonderful job!

So, with that said, I've been thinking about all my wonderful sistas in Owasso and how much I really enjoy spending time with them. I was able to hang out with most of them this past weekend. Thank you guys, you all know who you are, for re energizing me this past weekend. I just want you all to know, even if you don't feel the same way about me (ha ha...thanks Kina) I love you all very much. And it really does feel like a sisterhood!!! (just without the traveling pants!) I feel so fortunate that you've all been so wonderful to me and love me in return. The Lord has blessed me for sure and has blessed Friendship with people who really love one another!
